Review of 2003 is the third
programme in our Review of the Year series, which commenced in 2001.
The series is intended to show an overview of events from the past
year featuring the national network and numerous heritage lines
with steam, diesel and electric locomotives in action.
Throughout 2003, our camera's
were in action around the country. The programme includes a look
at steam and diesel operations on the Swanage, North Yorkshire Moors,
Keighley & Worth Valley, West Somerset, Great Central, Gloucestershire
Warwickshire, South Devon and Llangollen Railways.
Our mainline steam feature
includes a wide variety of traction including a Duchess over Shap,
a B1 to Mallaig, a Standard 4MT tank to Whitby, a Manor on the Bristol
- Paignton specials and an LNER K1 from Middlesborough.
The national network diesel
section is packed with rare, unusual and everyday workings, including
Deltics on the West Highland Line, the yellow Network Rail liveried
HST test train, GBRf 66/7s on hire to Freightliner Heavy Haul and
a Western in North Wales. We also feature Virgin's Class 57/3 Thunderbird
locomotives in action on the Settle & Carlisle drags, the 'Royal
Scotsman' to Kyle and we go behind the scenes at Toton Depot to
see the newly reliveried Class 58, destined for Holland.
In addition to this, the 100
minute programme also includes a look at Doncaster and Crewe Works
Open Days, plus their associated railtours and much, much more!
