Siemens Wildenrath Test Centre
The Siemens test centre at Wildenrath in Germany is one of the most
advanced in the world. We visited the test track, courtesy of Siemens,
to see the first of the Heathrow Connect 360s on test and take a
look around the test area. ALso includes an abbreviated view of
the test track from the cab.
Freight Action Around Peak Forest
Today the Peak Forest area sees a wide varieyt of railfreight action,
with numerous aggregate workings out of the two rail connected quarries.
In this section we look at the variety of traffic that is still
to be found around the area, most of which is worked by the BR Type
5 Class 60 locomotives.
West Coast Route Modernisation
This section looks at the work that has been taking place on the
southern section of the West Coast Main Line, to bring the route
in to the 21st Century. We see Euston and Birminghams Proof
House Junctions from the air and also see the upgrade work taking
place during engineering possesions..
