Scheduled Loco-Hauled Passenger Services
The summer of 2004 has seen a wide range of scheduled locomotive
hauled trains in operation across the UKs rail network, we take
a look at Class 67s on Virgin Cross Country workings, 31s around
Bath, 37s in South Wales and on the Settle & Carlisle line,
47s on the North Wales coast, Class 87s on the West Coast Main Line
and Class 90s in Scotland.
Class 37 Action
In this specially extended edition, we look at the work performed
by the rapidly decreasing EWS Class 37 fleet. DRS locomotives also
feature as we look at some of the trains worked by the Type 3s across
the country during the summer, including test trains, charters and
every day workings.
Railcar 50 - A Celebration
2004 markes the 50th anniversary of the introduction of British
Railways designed Diesel Multiple Units. In October, the Severn
Valley Railway held a special celebration featuring several DMU
classes brought together from heritage railways across the country.
Railfreight Traffic Around Immingham
The Immingham area has long been a favourite with the railway enthusiast
due to its variety of motive power and freight services. Today,
despite the near constant procession of Class 66 locomotives, there
is still much variety in the railfreight scene. During this feature
we look at the traffic around the docks complex and the semaphore
signalled area of Barnetby.
